I talked to one of my community members and actually she is my next door neighbor, Dani Soto. My social justice issue is about poverty. I feel like we relate on a better level since we both experienced a similar situation. I feel like she still expresses that there is still needs and concerns she has. Dani has to still go through a lot if something is wrong with her health. She doesn't have health insurance and she would need to have a translator to make things easier to know what is going on in her body. Another issue she faced was that she could not afford her house that one time and she was about to move since it was an issue, but her family come in and helped her out when she needed it the most. In general she just has been through a lot to just stay in America, but she would not change it for anything else.
I feel like this issue has already been addressed slightly. I feel this way because there are books that help people get out of poverty and safe their money so that they could be stable. But that is not the issue. The issue is that families that come from a different country have to start off from nothing and basically build their way up and get themselves there. Sometimes they stay in poverty for the longest time and still not be able to get out of poverty.
I would addressed the issue in a new and fresher way by connecting with people that are going through this situation and helping them through it. Since they are coming from poverty, I do not think they have access to sources on the computers or even able to buy books that could advise them to get out of poverty. In the way that I would do it is help out in the communities that need it the most. Go there and actually talk to them in person and feel for how they get through their every day routines. And to get more research and others to help out to, is to put it on the internet to have others input into it. It is always better to have younger kids get inspiration from people they look up to and admire.
